extraordinaire just below Sweden's Version of Stonehenge ... BEAUTIFUL!!
Then the beautiful drive home ... Did you know that Southern Sweden used to be Denmark until Sweden recovered it in 1658? Neither did I ... hence the strong Danish influence in this Southern region ... LOVED this day!

ReplyDeleteIt was in the 1700’s when the Great grand father x5 or 6 came to Denmark but still could have ancestry on the spouse’s side that would date back way earlier
ReplyDeleteFrank Jr. found these two interesting links regarding our ancestry. The Family tree seems confusing as I thought Grandpa Frederick (lots of Danish Kings named Frederick) was born in Copenhagen ... not according to this tree.

"Bad news for all of us is that Copenhagen is NOT in our lineage - our Tycksen family line hails from a region that is now in modern Germany. It was part of Denmark for many many years, then the Prussian empire took control, and it was finally handed over to Germany after WW one. I will forward the link to you.
